BIG NEWS!!! The "Running for the bay!" Marathon medal has been
voted two years running as one of the top 10 medals in North America
by Marathon and Beyond magazine!
This year you and your "non-runner" friends can
also enjoy the Apalachicola Riverfront Film Festival. Arrive early,
enjoy a nice meal, visit the film festival and then get ready for the most
beautiful run you'll every have!
Apalachicola will be hosting the first annual Apalachicola Riverfront Film Festival Saturday night,
October 19th, the evening before the “Running For the Bay Marathon”. This new and exciting
event will be an upscale and elegant addition to the community, The night of films will focus on
bringing a love of the arts through thought provoking, cultural films which we have gathered from
around the world and our region. Along with a 40’ screen and a viewing area outdoors on the
park lawn, the festival will be complete with a large inviting tent full of local cuisine & fine wines
for your enjoyment. Please come and join us as we enjoy an entertaining night of movie
watching under a full moon alongside the majestic Apalachicola River! Tickets will be sold
Saturday at the race EXPO in advance for $20, or at the festival for $25. Festival begins at
7:30pm and is located downtown at Riverfront Park. The film festival is a separately owned
and ran event, so be sure to ask the table at the EXPO all the details! It's something
great for your non-running friends and family to do!

The “Running for the bay!” Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and Ultra 50K (all with wheelchair divisions) are races held in beautiful Apalachicola, Florida. The races are designed to bring attention to The Apalachicola Bay area, one of the most beautiful and important estuaries in America; create an avenue for charity fund raising and to promote health and fitness.
The Full Marathon and Half Marathon and Ultra 50K start in Apalachicola and head over the beautiful Apalachicola Bay to Eastpoint and St. George Island. The 10K and 5K also enjoy the local beauties of Apalachicola and the Apalachicola Bay.
Come see "The Forgotten Coast" and enjoy the fun of the race activities, either as a runner, walker, wheelchair entrant or spectator. You'll be involved in activities that will become one of your "life long" memories. Enjoy it with your family and friends, while receiving the benefits of health and fitness. The "Running for the bay!" Marathon course is USATF certified!
The "Running for the bay!" Marathon course is certified by the USATF. Our certification number is: FL10040EBM. This means the course can be used to qualify for the Boston Marathon or any other major that requires times to be set on a certified course.
Time limit: Course is open for all races for 8 hours!
The race event will be a lot of fun and you'll be helping raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project and local charities and/or non-profits.
